Photogalleries offline indefinitely without your help!

Many of you know that Erika and I have gone through web hosting hell in the last year- and all of it has been related to our galleries and the resources consumed by Coppermine- our gallery application. I have received notice that our hosting company will shut us down unless I move our galleries elsewhere- to do this I need your help! I have already changed host once this year- and it is not cheap.

The problem? This needs to be done quickly and this is an unwelcome expense that I wasn’t expecting or anticipating. I need your help to make this happen.

I’m willing to put the hundreds of hours needed to move the galleries AGAIN, but I need your financial help to do this. We’re also having to move all of the galleries in our MV network – so ANY donations that you can make to me would be greatly appreciated. All funds will go towards our new server bills AND any extra will get put into our monthly online photo subscription funds. No amount is too small. $5 multiplied by a handful of generous folks will add up quickly. Just click on the Paypal link on the upper left of this page!

If I don’t get enough donations by the end of the weekend…that’s it folks, I can’t be bothered w/ galleries any longer, they’re too big of a headache for me. So it’s up to you to help me out. Donations can be made through PAYPAL – simply click on the button on the top left hand corner of the page.

NEW Entertainment Hotline Tool Bar!

At the top left of our page you can see a new banner promoting our exciting new toolbar that you can download! The Entertainment Hotline is a sub-site of Multipleverses our parent site.

I have aggregated the links for all of our site links in one place along with some cool tools you can use in searching the web. Every time you install the toolbar- we get credit which we will use to support our galleries and sites and keep them current.

We will be really stepping up things over here as American Idol season 8 takes off- so watch for more Idol news in the weeks to come as the journey to the season 8 winner begins.

New Affiliates !

The Entertainment Hotline and Multipleverses.com are proud to announce 3 new affiliates.

Happy Ending is a CLOIS Clark Kent and Lois Lane Smallville Shipper site with tons of CLOIS screencaps and a great archive of news about the iconic pairing of Lois and Clark on Smallville. They are the official blog site of Divine Intervention- the biggest CLOIS shipper fan forums online and our partner in the CCC Petition drive for more Erica Durance in season 8- which has seemingly paid off with the announcement this week that Erica will indeed be in more than her standard 13 episodes.

Shando-Web is a fun addition to our affiliate family as an awesome Shannen Doherty fan site with lots of pics, news and videos. We welcome Shando-Web to the MV/EH circle of friends! EH has been covering Shannen on the new 90210 and we have a nice gallery just for Charmed on MV which you can access HERE. Please check out Shando-Web for tons more SD news and fun!

Our final new affiliate addition this week is Nic’s Addictions. Nic has an AWESOME photo blog with an extensive up to the minute gallery on all of our favorite network shows- from Sci-Fi and action, cop dramas and comedies and more. EH site update and news

I wanted to announce that our hosting company TMD Hosting has moved our website to a new faster, more powerful server to accomodate the traffic all of our readers generate. You may see some delays accessing the system today and tomorrow but after that all should run smoothly.

This is a huge contrast to the hosting company MV/EH was initially using. They told me to remove my site and all of my features to reduce the load on their servers when traffic started to build instead of realizing as websites grow they need more powerful resources and should be treated accordingly.

If you run a fansite with a blog and gallery and are looking to change hosting companies I can recommend TMD. They did the migration of my blog and galleries automatically for me using my backup files so I had no stress in making a huge transition in a hurry. They have continued to work with me to keep things running smoothly as well. The latest server migration is an example of this.

Earlier this month we ran into an issue- the same one that had Serverfly send me packing- my Coppermine gallery had too many processes that were taking too long to finish. The problem? The random image display which is standard in Coppermine- nobody tells you it should not be used once your library is over 10,000 images. Instead of selling me an expensive hosting program on a dedicated server ( which is what Serverfly tried to do) TMD worked with me to change my set up turning off the random images and stabilizing my server loads for Coppermine.

What does this mean? It means my hosting company likes my business and wants to keep it and understands that most people who run websites are not programmers and we pay for guidance and help in administering things along the way.

If you are looking for a stable, friendly hosting company that has reasonable rates and really knows Wordpress and Coppermine I can highly recommend TMD Hosting.
