Bruce Springsteen Working Man’s Tour well worth the price of admission

Bruce at the Jobbing Center Glendale AZ

Bruce at the Jobbing Center Glendale AZ

Your admins here at The Entertainment Hotline were lucky enough to get tickets to see Bruce when he was in Glendale on Friday- and if you have never seen a Springsteen concert this is the year to do it! Bruce is touring with the full E-Street Band and they put on one of the most amazing shows. Our show started at 8:30 and ran right through to almost 11:30pm with only a few minutes for Bruce and the band to break before the encores which closed out the show.

Our show was sold out with the general admissions area on the floor pretty well packed with fans dancing and singing along with the Boss. Our seats were in the second row not too far back with a great view of the stage. Sitting near us were local fans and fans who came in from all over the country. The four men in front of us flew in from New Jersey to see him commenting on how they had not gotten tickets in the Tickemaster scandal this winter.

The show opened with Badlands and closed with Dancing in the Dark with a nice mix of his new tracks Outlaw Pete being a new favorite, and plenty of old stuff too.

I haved loaded my massive collection of Bruce photos in our gallery- check them out!

The Boss to play Super Bowl halftime

Monday, September 29th, 2008

NEW YORK – Another Super Bowl, another rock ‘n’ roll superstar at halftime.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at the 2009 Super Bowl halftime show in Tampa, Fla., the NFL and NBC announced Sunday night.

Continuing a run of major talent that has lately included the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the biggest television event in the nation will showcase one of its most beloved rock ‘n’ roll artists. The Super Bowl will be played Feb. 1 at Raymond James Stadium.

The 2008 Super Bowl show was watched by more than 148 million viewers in the U.S., the NFL said in its release. It wasn’t always that way: For years, the game’s halftime show was made up of local and college marching bands and drill teams.

Chubby Checker in 1988 was the first popular musician to perform at halftime, and Michael Jackson upped the ante in 1993. His sister Janet provided the show’s most infamous moment with 2004′s “wardrobe malfunction” — and the show has stuck with straight ahead rock acts ever since.
