Congrats to Alphas ! The sophomore Syfy series about a group of humans with extraordinary abilities scored the number one slot by a landslide helped in a big part by the addition of super popular sci fi sweetheart Summer Glau to the cast in a recurring role this season.

The winners list includes some favorite returning shows – but some newbies made strong showings as well. Of note- Common Law and Longmire made our top 10 list and neither series has officially received a second season pickup. Thanks to Katee Sackhoff and Lou Diamond Phillips for retweeting our poll along with legions of fans of Common Law and its lead Michael Ealy and USA Network who helped it secure our number two slot out of our top ten shows.

It is interesting to note that 3 series out of the top 10 are science fiction series, only one is from a major network ( Rookie Blue airs on ABC in the U.S) , 3 series air on USA Network and the Breaking Bad is entering its final season. TNT super hits Rizzoli and Isles, The Closer, Dallas and Perception didn’t crack our top ten list even though they were some of the summer’s top ratings winners. True Blood was shut out as well. Burn Notice and Covert Affairs also from USA were just outside of the top 10.
