The London Olympics have officially begun. The opening ceremonies were directed by Danny Boyle – academy award winning director of Slum Dog Millionaire. He sought to have the ceremonies highlight the cultural contributions of all of the British Isles to the world. From Shakespeare’s pastoral England to the most modern world with David Bowie singing about Rocket Men. My favorite moment had to be the Queen being escorted to the games by James Bond (Daniel Craig) while the Queen’s corgis are faithfully in glorious chubby corgi attendance at the palace. The Queen’s entrance is pretty spectacular!

If you watched the NBC coverage- Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt voiced over the initial highlights reel. Ryan Seacrest and the Extra team are joining the color coverage team. As someone who loves the Olympics , who loves all things Brit and is a fan of gloriously fun pageantry the show was a big hit with this blogger.
