‘What Would Brian Boitano Make?’ Second Season Premieres Sunday, March 7th at 1pm ET/PT
NEW YORK – February 22nd, 2010 – Brian Boitano, Olympic figure skater-turned-cook, returns with all-new, enticing entertaining ideas and puts his creative yet simple recipes to the test for friends and family in the second season of his Food Network series, What Would Brian Boitano Make?, premiering Sunday, March 7th at 1pm ET/PT.

“Parent’s Night Out”
Brian offers all of his friends with children a kid-free dinner by not only cooking, but babysitting as well. Brian starts with a Crispy Crab Cakes appetizer, a delectable favorite. For the main dish, Brian serves a mouth-watering Pan Seared Filet Mignon and Sea Bass followed by decadent Molten Chocolate Cakes. Brian also serves up two cocktails to suit all parents in need of refreshment: a citrusy sweet Clementine Cosmo and a classic Man’s Man Manhattan.

“Manuela Eats Chinese”
When Brian discovers his friend Manuela has never eaten Chinese food, he whips up a meal to change her tastes. First, Brian throws together some savory Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage and delicate Mussels in Oyster Sauce. With meaty Pork Steamed Buns and succulent Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, Brian makes sure Manuela loves this new cuisine!

“Kristi Comes to Dinner”
Brian’s close pal and Olympic figure skater, Kristi Yamaguchi, brings her family gathering to his place and serves up a Mexican meal to delight them all. He starts with crisp and cheesy Open Faced Quesadillas along with Kristi’s Carne Asada Tacos with Green Salsa. Next, Brian has the Yamaguchi family try his seasoned Grilled Corn and Bean Salad and for dessert, his cinnamon-spiked Horchata Rice Pudding. To wash it all down, Brian’s refreshingly fruity Watermelon Margarita pairs perfectly with this Mexican fiesta hit.

“Hawaiian Honeymoon”
Brian surprises his newlywed niece and her husband with a Hawaiian Honeymoon – in San Francisco! At their own private luau, Brian treats them to tropical-inspired dishes, beginning with appetizing Scallops with Mango and Avocado. Next, he serves up a tender Braised Hawaiian Pork Shoulder with Faux Poi, a twist on a classic Hawaiian dish made of mashed parsnips and celery root. For dessert, Brian treats the newlyweds to Banana Coconut Luau Cake and Hawaiian Honeymoon Punch, recipes sure to start the marriage on a sweet note.

Few athletes have enjoyed the artistic and popular success that figure skater Brian Boitano has achieved since winning the gold medal for the United States at the 1988 Winter Olympics Games in Calgary, Canada. In total, Brian, a three-time Olympian, has won more than 50 titles, including the Olympic Gold Medal. Brian has been inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame, the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame, and the National Italian-American Hall of Fame. Brian won a primetime Emmy Award for his starring role in the HBO movie Carmen on Ice, toured for 15 years with Champions on Ice and has provided expert commentary on skating shows for ABC, NBC and Turner networks. In 1995, Brian founded White Canvas Productions, creating more than twenty specials including The Brian Boitano Skating Spectacular. Brian has published Boitano’s Edge: Inside the Real World of Figure Skating (Simon & Schuster, November 1997). With a lifelong passion for food and cooking, Brian premiered his Food Network series, What Would Brian Boitano Make? in August 2009. Brian lives and films in San Francisco, CA.
